We offer a wide range of dental services for every member of the family at our Mukilteo, WA practice.
Family dentistry covers the needs of all members of the family at every stage of life.
The dental needs of a child, a teenager, an adult, and a senior all differ. But, don’t worry, we have you covered! Our range of services, from hygiene to dental implants, covers the needs of all members of the family.
How do you benefit from family dentistry? Here are a few ways:
Hygiene/Periodontics
Plan on spending an hour with us on your periodontic appointments. A healthy smile starts with healthy gums. So, we promise to be gentle but thorough to make sure we are giving your smile the healthy foundation it needs.
What can you expect during your appointment? If you are a new patient, we will review your dental history, take necessary X-rays and examine your mouth. Once we’ve talked with you about any concerns you may have, we will create a treatment plan.
During routine appointments, we will follow through with the predetermined treatment and may perform preventative or therapeutic treatments such as applying fluoride or periodontal treatment.
Dental Implant Crowns
Sometimes, a tooth becomes so damaged that it requires a dental crown to protect it and keep it healthy.
When a tooth is so damaged it must be removed, a dental implant may be used to replace the missing tooth root. Once the implant is in place in the jaw, it is covered by a dental crown. Dental crowns are made of ceramic that is durable and highly customizable to shape and color.
Our office makes the entire dental crown process easier and faster by using revolutionary CEREC dental implants technology. This system uses digital impressions and an in-office milling machine to create your new dental implant right here in our office. You can come in for your appointment and leave wearing your new crown the same day! No need to wait!
Metal Free Fillings
Metal-free fillings are the best option for keeping your smile healthy and beautiful.
Composite resin fillings are used instead of metal. There are many advantages to composite fillings. Many people are allergic to metal, but composite fillings are allergen-free. Also, composite fillings are bonded to the enamel surface of your tooth, which means they do a better job at keeping out bacteria and protecting your tooth than metal fillings.
One of the things our patients love the best about composite fillings is no more ugly metal fillings marring their smile. Composite resin fillings can be color-customed to match your own teeth’s natural color. They look and feel like your own teeth!
Sports & Mouthguards
A custom mouthguard is used to protect your teeth from forces that can damage them.
Some people experience something called bruxism or teeth grinding. Especially while they are sleeping, they may tightly clench or grind their teeth together. Over time, this can cause wear or even cracks to the protective enamel of their teeth.
A custom-fitted mouthguard can protect your teeth at night without interfering with your restful night’s sleep.
Many children are involved in sports at school, and many dental injuries are related to these sports. It’s important to protect your child’s teeth with a mouthguard that is custom-fitted and comfortable to wear.
Children’s Dentistry
We really love our younger patients, and it shows!
As a family dentistry practice, we understand the importance of starting your child’s dental care as early as possible. The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends that a child go to the dentist by age one or within six months after the first tooth erupts.
From their first visit on, we will work with you to make their visits educational for you and fun for them. We want to help your child to develop excellent dental habits that will ensure them a lifetime of healthy teeth and gums.
Dentures
Sometimes, damaged teeth can reach a stage where removing them is one of the best options.
When this becomes necessary, we understand how uncomfortable and inconvenient it can be. Also, we know that you want to replace those missing teeth with dentures that fit well, are comfortable, function correctly, and look natural. Modern-day dentures can do all of that.
Dr. Johnson and his team will help to make this entire process as quick, smooth, and easy as possible.
Endodontics (Root Canal)
We really love our younger patients, and it shows!
Saving your natural tooth and restoring its function is always the best option.
Root canal therapy from our Mukilteo, WA practice can do that, preventing the need for an extraction. It cleans out bacteria and damage at the root of a tooth and protects it from further damage by using a protective crown. Learn more about root canals here.
While Dr. Johnson is using his expert skills to save your tooth, you will be enjoying watching TV or listening to your favorite music, and our team will be making sure you are comfortable throughout your procedure.
Bridges
If you have a broken, cracked, or damaged tooth, dental bridges and crowns can restore your smile.
A dental crown is an artificial tooth cap that fits over your damaged tooth, returning it to full functionality.
A dental bridge is used to replace missing teeth. A crown is fixed in place by using the adjacent teeth as a support, creating a “bridge” effect over the gap.
Bridges and crowns are a simple and effective way to give you back your full, healthy, and beautiful smile!
Dental Crowns
We really love our younger patients, and it shows!
A dental crown is a hollow cap which goes over your natural tooth to protect it from decay and damage while restoring its strength, shape, and appearance.
These caps look and feel just like real teeth, improving your smile and making it easy to bite, chew, and speak as usual.
Dental crowns are highly durable, lasting for many years.
